Ballack retires

Michael Ballack has retired from professional football at the age of 36.

Ballack enjoyed a fine career with the likes of Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen and Chelsea.

Unfortunately he developed a habit for finishing as a runner up throughout his career, in the 2000 and 2008 Champions League finals, a World Cup final and European Championship final among others.

Nonetheless he will be remembered as one of the, if not the finest, German player of his generation.
