Blanc closes in on Roma post

Laurent Blanc is closing in on becoming the new manager of AS Roma according to reports.

France manager Didier Deschamps, who succeeded Blanc last year, indicated he would become the new Roma coach, saying: “I want to wait until it is official, but I know they are on the right track with talks.

“Laurent wants a bench and a new opportunity to work. Roma are a good club, albeit with a particular type of pressure around them. If it is officially confirmed, then I’m very happy for him.”

Reports have suggested that Blanc will get a two year deal with the Italian club, although others suggest that Roma still harbour reservations.
