Borghi fired after latest Chile loss

Claudio Borghi was fired after his Chile team lost 3-1 to Serbia last night.

The defeat in St Gallen was Chile’s fifth in a row, not helped by Arturo Vidal’s red card.

“They’ve asked me to step aside, I’m no longer the coach of the Chilean national team,” Borghi said afterwards.

“The evaluation is not good, I had a meeting with the directors and they asked me to step aside.”
