The 24-year-old has joined Cardiff for an undisclosed fee.
Connolly has signed a three-year contract with the Bluebirds.
“Cardiff City are pleased to announce that Matthew Connolly has joined the club from Queens Park Rangers, following the completion of his medical and paperwork on Wednesday morning,” read a statement released on the club’s official website.
