CSKA win Russian title

CSKA Moscow have won the Russian title for the first time since 2006 after a 0-0 draw with Krasnodar.

The result leaves CSKA 11 points clear of last year’s champions Zenit St Petersburg, who can no longer catch them.

“This is my first title so it’s hard to describe how I feel,” key midfielder Alan Dzagoyev told Russian television NTV Plus.

“I can’t describe it. Just happiness. The only problem was that we couldn’t score, although we came close several times.”
