The ambitious owner believes Napoli, without Champions League football this year, could take advantage of the lack of a serious challenger to Juventus and be a surprise candidate to win the title.
The club have an 100% record after three matches of the new season.
“This could be the right year to win the Scudetto,” De Laurentiis said to Il Mattino.
“I have to underline the ‘could’ in that sentence, because every year we target the best we can get. We completed our Champions League cycle with good results, but this time we have two competitive sides who can cover all competitions.”
