The Spaniards have bought the player from the Championship side and have the option to extend Petrov’s contract by a year if they beat relegation, according to the player’s agent.
“If Espanyol manage to avoid relegation, the contract will be automatically extended by one more year,” Lucheslav Tanev told TV7.
