Ferguson wants more goals from Rooney

Sir Alex Ferguson wants more goals from Wayne Rooney but says he is happy with the player’s contribution so far this season.

Rooney has been in superb form for United but playing in a withdrawn role he is not in a goalscoring position as much as he has been.

Ferguson said: “I’m happy with that part of his game. It’s no problem for me. He can contribute to the team’s success fine but we would rather he scored more. He’s going through a period that all strikers do, he’s not scoring and it will change once he starts to score regular.”
