Former Manchester United striker Giuseppe Rossi has joined Spanish side Levante from Fiorentina.
Rossi will stay on loan at Levante for the rest of the season, the Spanish club have confirmed.
“Levante UD and ACF Fiorentina have reached an agreement in principle for the loan of Giuseppe Rossi until the end of the season, subject to him successfully coming through a medical examination” the statement said.
“The player is set to arrive in Valencia this afternoon.”
Rossi stated on his Facebook page on Friday that he hopes the Fiorentina fans will understand his decision to join Levante.
“I’m the first to be disappointed because I owe a debt to the Fiorentina fans,” Rossi said. “I gave my all in everything I’ve done because I wanted to continue to give them emotions on the pitch.
“Football is my life and if you take that away from me I can never be happy. I hope that the Fiorentina fans can understand me because I want to smile again.
“I can never forget the goosebumps you gave me on Sundays. I’ll always keep the Viola in my heart.”
