Re: Tevez will never play for Man City again?

Former Northern Ireland manager Lawrie Sanchez on the Carlos Tevez saga.

"A statement from the manager explaining what they have decided to do is what Manchester City fans will be looking for," he said.

"There are massive egos involved in football when you get to that level of competence and ability and ego comes with it. It is part of what got you there, but sometimes you have to realise it is not tennis or golf, but a team sport and you have to realise that you have to give 100% for the team."

Re: Tevez will never play for Man City again?

Former Blackburn, Sunderland and England defender Michael Gray on Carlos Tevez: "Carlos has to know he is part of a squad. Last season he was the talisman but things change and Aguero and Dzeko have come in and he has to wait his turn.

"If you are on the bench you have to be ready to come on and do a turn for the team. It is unprofessional if you are called on for any game and you have a contract with the club."

Former Everton and Scotland international Andy Gray said on talkSPORT about Tevez: "I don't care what excuses he comes out with now. I'm not interested in that after what he did. He won't be in the squad again.

"You can't do what he did - it was so disrespectful, so unprofessional. I've never known anything like that. How are they going to get #45m for him now? Why do you think Fergie got rid of him?"

Simple decision for Man City hierarchy. Fully support Mancini & tell Tevez he will not play for the club again. He will not be missed now.

OllieHoltMirror
Hope MCFC make statement soon about backing for Mancini over Tevez. They have to support him strongly or his position will be undermined

DannyFullbrook
Mancini has gone up in my estimation even further with way he has dealt with Tevez. Tough managers should be applauded.

matty123tay
can't wait until Tevez appears at #mcfc next time, be like an episode of Jezza Kyle!

Don_Nerazzurri
If mcfc cancel his contract he'd be available for free but is he worth the hassle he causes?

jamielewis0
Just thrown my tevez cup away. He doesnt even deserve to be used as my cup of tea mug.

Mathuthu
Tevez was wrong to refuse to go on. But how many believe Dzeko shd be starting ahead of him? The coach undermined player first

Man_Red20
Its was the right time for someone to stand up against ARROGANT Maccini. He is destroying careers of good players like Adam Jhonson

Man_Red20
Why blame Tevez? Bellemy, Adebayour, Irland , Santa cruize, Shaun wright Philips and alots of more players been through this situation

Keano_Star
Only one winner in the Carlos Tevez saga. TEVEZ!!.. MCFC made a mistake keeping a player who wanted to leave and paying him £1mil a month.

Former Nottingham Forest manager Dave Bassett has had his say on the Carlos Tevez saga.

He said: "It's not a surprise - it has been coming. In this day and age players are aware of their power and if they want to sulk they are well capable of it.

"It would be fantastic if the club owners told Tevez he had to see out the rest of his contract in the reserves but it will be interesting to see if they have the bottle to do it."
