Topic: Premiership title race LIVE!! Man Utd vs Stoke and Chelsea v Wigan

We will try to bring you live action from the Premier League here in this thread today. Big chances, yellow/red cards.. line-ups. etc.

We will be keeping an very close eye on the race for the Premier League title between Manchester United and Chelsea, but also on the race for the third place between Tottenham and Arsenal!

So please join in and have a chat about the game, while it is going on!!!!  tongue

Breaking team news - Chelsea v Wigan: Mike Pollitt will start in goal for Wigan, he will make his first appearance since January. Chelsea are unchanged.

Man Utd v Stoke

Head-to-head

The Potters' last league victory over United came on Boxing Day 1984 at the old Victoria Ground.

Man Utd have won nine of the last 11 league meetings with Stoke without the Potters scoring. In the two games where Stoke scored, they won the match.

Man Utd

It is six years since the club last won their final four matches of the season. In 2002/03 they beat Blackburn, Tottenham, Charlton and Everton on their way to the title.

United have the best defensive record in the division, conceding 28 goals in 37 matches.

Wayne Rooney has scored 148 club goals in his career, while Paul Scholes needs one more to register 150 for Manchester United.

Stoke City

If the club stay 10th in the table it will be their best top-flight finish since coming fifth in in 1975.

Along with Portsmouth, the Potters have scored fewer Premier League away goals than any other team this season (10).

City have conceded 99 goals in their Premier League history.

Chelsea v Wigan

Head-to-head

A Wigan win would give them a first league double against Chelsea.

They have lost three of their four Premier League games at Stamford Bridge, the one exception a 1-1 draw in April 2008. Wigan's only victory away to Chelsea was in an FA Cup third-round replay in 1980.

Chelsea

Carlo Ancelotti's side have won 16 of 18 league games at Stamford Bridge this season, scoring 60 goals. They dropped points in the 3-3 draw with Everton and 4-2 loss to Manchester City.

Since losing to City, the Blues have won four successive home league games, scoring 19 goals.

The Blues need three more goals to break the Premier League record for most goals in a single season. It is currently held by Manchester United, who netted 97 in 1999/00.

Wigan

Wigan's 3-2 win over Arsenal is their only victory in their last six games.

They have lost their last five away matches.

Wigan have failed to win their last 17 Premier League games in London, a run that began after victory at West Ham in December 2006.
