Topic: Scotland Premier League picks 18-22/1

Tuesday:

Kilmarnock vs Hearts

Hearts are at the top of the form table, but they face number two on the same table in this one. Could be a close one.

Draw.

Rangers vs Inverness CT

Rangers have pritty decent form and should have no problems winning this game against Inverness CT.

Rangers win with 0-1 handicap.

Saturday:

Hearts vs Rangers

Hearts are at the top of the form table, but Rangers have been very strong in their recent away games. Should be close, but entertaining.

Over 2.5 goals.

Celtic vs Aberdeen

Celtic have very strong home form and should be able to take all three points from this one at home.

Celtic win.

Inverness CT vs Hamilton

Inverness CT have 0-1-2 on their last three home games while Hamilton have 0-0-3 on their last three away games.

Over 2.5 goals.

Kilmarnock vs Dundee Utd

Kilmarnock have very strong form and I believe they will be able to beat Dundee United in this one at home.

Kilmarnock win.

Motherwell vs Hibernian

Hibernian are at the bottom of the form table, but Motherwell have failed to impress me in their recent home games.

Over 2.5 goals.

St Johnstone vs St Mirren

St Johnstone have 1-0-2 on their last three home games while St Mirren have 1-1-1 on their last three away games.

Under 2.5 goals.

Re: Scotland Premier League picks 18-22/1

Kilmarnock vs Hearts

Kilmarnock manager Mixu Paatelainen:
"The chairman has told me that if Conor goes, we will need to replace him. We're working on that in case it happens.

"Hopefully the chairman allows me to strengthen other areas as well.

"We haven't discussed that yet but the chairman has always said if there are players out there who will make us better and are within our budget, then we should make a move."

Hearts manager Jim Jefferies:
"Our record away from home's very good. It will be severely tested against a good Kilmarnock side without these players.

"I said weeks ago when the team was settled and doing well, there would come a time when we'd need the squad.

"It's all right saying on paper we've got a good squad, this is a chance for them to come in and prove that they can carry on from where they boys who are missing have left off.

"That'll prove we've got the strength in depth.

"It's a challenge for them to come in and keep the run going, particularly away from home."

Squads:

Kilmarnock (from): Bell, Fowler, Wright, Sissoko, Hay, Taouil, Rui Miguel, Kelly, Eremenko, Silva, Clancy, Jaakkola, Invincibile, Gross, Pascali, Berntsson, Laurant, Kennedy.

Hearts (from): Kello, Barr, Bouzid, Zaliukas, Stevenson, Palazuelos, Templeton, Elliot, Elliott, Balogh, Kyle, Skacel, Jonsson, Mrowiec, C Thomson, Novikovas, Wallace, Obua, J Thomson, Kucharski.

Re: Scotland Premier League picks 18-22/1

Rangers vs Inverness CT

Rangers manager Walter Smith:
"We have a wee struggle defensively," Smith said. "We have doubts over Steven Whittaker and Sasa Papac for tomorrow's game and Madjid Bougherra is suspended.

"Steven could not put his boot on this morning without a lot of discomfort and Sasa Papac has a groin injury. It's not a bad one but obviously we have to show a bit of care to make sure it doesn't get any worse.

"We also have Steven Naismith doubtful.

"So we are a little bit short, especially defensively if the two boys are out.

"Andy Webster is available and Richard Foster is there and we have Lee McCulloch who can move to the back, so we have managed to cover it, but it leaves us short defensively."

Inverness manager Terry Butcher:
"We always look forward to going to Ibrox.

"It's the third time we'll have played Rangers this year and we've had two good draws and two good performances.

"There's an extra spring in the lads' step and we've got a good record against them recently.

"The lads are confident going down there."

Squads:

Rangers (from): McGregor, Whittaker, Papac, Foster, Weir, Davis, Edu, McCulloch, Ness, Weiss, Wylde, Naismith, Lafferty, Miller, Beattie, Jelavic, Webster, Alexander, Fleck.

Inverness (from): Esson, Tokely, Munro, Cox, Proctor, Shinnie, Duff, Ross, Foran, Rooney, Odhiambo, Sutherland, Golabek, Tuffey, Duncan, Sanchez, Innes, Blumenshtein, Proctor.
