Gignac suffers metatarsal injury

Andre Pierre Gignac has suffered a metatarsal injury which has ruled him out of action for six weeks.

Gignac has been key for Marseille, scoring five times as they went top of the league, before losing that advantage to Paris St Germain.

A statement on the Marseille website read: “Andre-Pierre Gignac has suffered a fractured fifth metatarsal. He has been ruled out for six weeks, according to the medical staff of Marseille.”
