The 57-year-old former Turkey boss has signed a contract that will keep him at the club until 2013.
“Trabzonspor have been through an unlucky period but it would be wrong to question their worth. Now we need to support the club in order to make it a world-famous brand,” Gunes said at a press conference.
“However, we will do that in short stages. The ultimate goal is to establish a club who can develop their own talent. While doing this we’ll do our utmost to compete.”
