Guti retires

Former Real Madrid ace Guti has announced his retirement from the sport.

The midfielder last played for Besiktas at the end of last year, but has decided to quit rather than take up a lucrative last pay day.

“The decision has been made”, he told Marca Radio. “Offers arrived, but I’ve decided to quit to spend more time with my family.

“I’m going to do a sports director and coaching course. I want to train the youth teams. I would love to train Real Madrid’s youth team.”
