Isco wants Spain starting berth

Isco has said he wants to be a part of the Spain squad in the long term but recognises he has a big fight on his hands.

The Malaga midfielder is an up and coming star but Spain have a multitude of similar fleet of foot creative forwards.

“In truth, my position is difficult to compete for, here are the best players in the world,” Isco told reporters.

“Gradually, if I keep doing things, I may have the opportunity to stay. I am here and will try to do well and help the team.

“We are accustomed to watching them play…they are the champions of the world and Europe. The best.

“I am fortunate to be sharing a dressing room with them and I will try to take the opportunity to be here.”
