Japan qualify for Brazil 2014

Japan have become the first side to qualify for next year’s World Cup and join hosts Brazil.

The Japanese completed their usual serene qualification programme as they drew 1-1 with Australia, thanks to a last minute penalty from Keisuke Honda.

South Korea had to make do with a 1-1 draw against Lebanon which keeps them top of their qualifying section.
