The decision to fire Lapuenta is a surprise after he steered the team to the semi finals of last season’s Apertura, but the poor start to this season has cost him his job.
Lapuenta, who has previously won the championship for the Mexican outfit, was in his third spell at the club, and is replaced by Chilean Carlos Reinoso.
