Liverpool close on Atsu and Alberto

Liverpool are moving closer to signing Christian Atsu and Luis Alberto, although they need to up their offer for the latter.

Alberto, a Sevilla midfielder, will move if Liverpool up their offer, according to the club’s sporting director Ramon Verdejo.

“Luis Alberto is Sevilla’s because Barcelona have not exercised their option to purchase,” he told Sevilla’s TV station.

“Interest from Liverpool is real but nothing is signed. The player has received an important offer, but at the moment he is a Sevilla player.

“The first offer the club has is very good, but we are not satisfied yet.”

Atsu has been hailed as the “Ghanaian Messi” and will be allowed to move for £3 million from Porto according to reports.
