Meireles sustained an collar bone injury after falling awkwardly in the Carling Cup win at Exeter on Wednesday.
“It’s his collar bone that is damaged, but it’s only a week or two,” said Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish.
“We’ve been quite fortunate with that. A week or two will be the maximum.”
