Luxemburgo handed six game ban for brawl

Vanderlei Luxemburgo will be suspended for six games for his part in a mass brawl against Chilean side Huachipato earlier this month.

The crucial match was a winner takes all encounter in which a draw would suit Gremio. A 1-1 draw duly saw Gremio progress but the game was marred by a brawl allegedly sparked by Luxemburgo making fun of his opponents.

Following the incident in Talcahuano Luxemburgo will now miss Gremio’s next six games.
