Malaga hit out at UEFA ban

Malaga have attacked UEFA for banning them from European competition for a season for financial irregularities.

Malaga have been punished for late payments and debts, which mean they cannot participate in the next season they qualify for Europe.

“Malaga wishes to communicate its total disagreement with today’s UEFA decision,” read an official statement from the club. “The measures taken against the club are absolutely disproportionate and unjustified given the club’s situation. We consider that the club is being punished unfairly and used as a ‘Turk’s head’ example to others.”
