Man City made £29m bid for Cavani

Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis has revealed that Manchester City made a £29million bid for Edinson Cavani in the summer.

Napoli rejected the bid and the Uruguayan star later in the summer joined Paris Saint-Germain in a £53million deal.

“Cavani, Manchester City visited me in Rome,” explained De Laurentiis on Sky Sports News.

“But they just offered, I don’t remember exactly but around 35 million [euros] so I didn’t accept – there was a high level of interest.”
