The 28-year-old has withdrawn due to injury. Young has been struggling with injuries since the Manchester derby back in April.
A short statement released on the Football Association’s official website on Sunday night read: “Manchester United forward Ashley Young has withdrawn from the England squad.
“Following discussions between club England medical staff and their counterparts at the club, it was clear that Young would not be ready for the match with Scotland on Wednesday.”
