Man Utd striker fit to face Sunderland

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney should be fit to return to action this weekend to face Sunderland.

Rooney missed United’s Champions League game at Shakhtar Donetsk with a shin injury.

But United boss David Moyes has revealed that the shin injury is not serious and the striker should be ready to return to action this weekend.

Moyes said: “It’s not that serious. He took a clash of shins with Danny Welbeck and it’s just swollen up.”

When asked if Rooney would be fit for the clash with Sunderland on Saturday, Moyes said: “I hope so.”
