Martin defends Lille form

Marvin Martin believes Lille have made a better start to the season than they are being given credit for.

Lille had made an encouraging start but lost in their last game to title favourites Paris St Germain.

“In spite of what some people are saying, I think we’ve had a good start to the season,” he said. “We may have dropped points in the league but we’ll be doing everything in our power to make those up.

“Plus we fulfilled our objective in qualifying for the Champions League: that was August’s biggest satisfaction. There’s a winning culture here and we start every match with the intention of winning it.”
