Martins leaves Levante, heads for US

Obafemi Martins has triggered the release clause in his contract with Spanish side Levante, apparently to move to the United States.

The Nigerian forward is rumoured to be set to sign for American MLS side Seattle Sounders.

“Martins has deposited with the Spanish football league the amount stipulated in the buy-out clause in his contract with Levante,” Levante said in a statement.
