Mazzarri laments lack of depth

Walter Mazzarri conceded his Napoli side does not have the strength in depth to compete on two fronts.

Napoli lost 3-0 to PSV in the Europa League despite being joint top of Serie A.

“We started well, but then lost the ball too many times in midfield. It is a game we have to put behind us,” he told Italia 1 television.

“We have to mature and realise squad rotation is necessary for the position we are in. The fact is, there aren’t enough players to cover every competition.

“Either we drop points in Serie A or we drop them in Europa. Now we have to think ahead to Udinese this weekend.”
