McClaren won’t quit Twente

Steve McClaren won’t quit as Twente Enschede coach despite a poor run of form.

McClaren, who led Twente to the title just a few years ago, saw his side slip six points behind PSV on Saturday and some fans have called on him to quit.

“I believe in this club and the players”, he told the press. “This will turn around, of that I have no doubt. At the moment we are sitting in the middle of a storm. It happens in football.

“If we keep working hard then the results will come. We can’t give up and feel sorry for ourselves. We are good enough to get back up and I know that his group can do that.”
