Messi absence not crucial – Pique

Gerard Pique said that the absence of Leo Messi had not been decisive in Barcelona’s defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Barcelona were humbled by the German side and were unable to call on the Argentine superstar for the second leg last night.

Pique said: “The fact Lionel Messi, the best player in the world, did not play was a factor. But I do not think [he] would have changed things all that much.”
