The 25-year-old has recently been linked with a move to Championship side Middlesbrough.
Thomson has one year left on his contract with Ibrox.
Rangers are struggling with a poor financial situation, something that could force Thomson to leave.
“My fate is out of my own hands to a certain extent,” he told the Daily Record.
“I have a year left on my contract but I have stated numerous times that I would love to sign a new deal and that I see my future lying here.
“I love this club and I love being here – for me it’s the best club in the world.
“I hope the banks aren’t going to force the situation and tell me that I need to move on.”
