Monaco docked two points by French league

AS Monaco have been handed a two point deduction for next season as their dispute with French football authorities escalates.

Already battling the authorities over their ban from Ligue 1 next season, if successful Monaco will start with a two point disadvantage after crowd trouble marred their final Ligue 2 game of last season against Le Mans.

“Regarding the seriousness of the facts, Monaco are condemned to one match behind closed doors and a three-point penalty, including one suspended, for the next Ligue 1 season,” the LFP said in a statement.
