Mourinho plays down reports of Ramos rift

Jose Mourinho has denied there is a dispute between him and Sergio Ramos.

Ramos was not selected for Real Madrid during their victory over Man City in the Champions League last night.

Reports this week suggest that Ramos is one of the players Mourinho has a major issue with at the club amid growing reports of unrest in Madrid.

Ramos questioned why Mourinho attacked his team mates in the aftermath of their defeat to his former team Sevilla last weekend, and had to watch as Raphael Varane took his place last night.

Mourinho said: “He didn’t play because the coach decided that he didn’t play. He is a fantastic player, but I want to make clear [to] some of you experts [at] changing the truth, there are no problems with Ramos. This decision was taken purely on sports grounds.”
