Arsenal defender insists they can play better

Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen insists they can play better than they did against Porto on Tuesday.

The Gunners won the Champions League tie 5-0 at the Emirates Stadium.

"I don't know if it was our best performance of the season but we played a good game," he told Sky Sports.

"From the first minute we were putting pressure on them and they couldn't handle it. We scored two early goals and that was good for us.

"In the second half we didn't start that well, but after that we scored three, four and five."
