Bayern Munich ace wants to avoid Barcelona

Bayern Munich midfielder Mark Van Bommel is keen to avoid Barcelona in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

The Bundesliga giants managed to progress to the quarter-finals on away goals, following their game against Fiorentina on Tuesday evening.

"It was a hard game in curious weather. There was a lot of wind which troubled both teams. It went in our favour in the second half but helped Fiorentina’s goal too," said Van Bommel to uefa.com.

"They were very quick to take advantage and when the keeper failed to hold the ball, they scored. We conceded another but knew that if we got one goal we could get extra-time and fortunately we scored twice.

"Now we just have to get lucky as well with the draw. There are a lot of outside things that decide whether you go through or not, like playing the first game home or away. I just don't want to play against Barcelona."
