Rooney admitted he supports calls for a winter break, when asked if it would help the England team before the Euro 2012.

He told News of the World: "Not just the England team, I think it will help the Premier League too because towards the end of the season in some games the normal intensity isn't there and it's a long season and with the intensity games are played at I think it's only fair on the players that there is a break."
