Sunderland defender looking forward to Newcastle clash

Sunderland defender Michael Turner is looking forward to the clash with rivals Newcastle United on Sunday.

The 26-year-old is hopeful that they can get a win against their Tyneside rivals.

"They are feisty occasions," Turner told Sky Sports.

"Supporters from the same area come together with their teams fighting it out against each other."

"(It’s) going to be special," he continued.

"I knew when I signed for the club that games like this were going to be massive. It’s a big game and everyone is looking forward to it here."

"People who have been there and done it before can’t wait to get in there, and likewise for the boys who haven’t. Everyone is excited about going into it," he added.

"This one is a massive game for the fans. We need to produce for them and do them proud, so it is for them really."
