Van Gaal to take a year off
Louis van Gaal has said he will be taking a year off from football when he leaves Bayern Munich this summer.
It has been a disappointing campaign for Bayern in the Dutchman's second season in charge, though they could still win the Champions League, which would cap an impressive two seasons for van Gaal after winning the German double last season.
He said: "I plan to have a sabbatical year starting in the summer. It is sad that I cannot continue my work here."
