Former Man City star hits out at Tevez

Former Manchester City star Gary Owen has hit out at the behaviour of Carlos Tevez during the defeat to Bayern Munich last night.

Tevez refused to come onto the pitch in City's Champions League defeat against Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

"In any other work if you refuse to do your job you would be sacked or you would be suspended without pay," Owen told TalkSport.

"He’s cut his bridges now, let’s say goodbye to him in the January window. Every player has his price, we might have to get rid of him for less money but if there is a club who can cut their losses it’s Manchester City.

"Manchester City supporters would have been glad to see the back of the player [in the summer] but because of what he’s done at the club over the last two seasons they’ve forgiven him on numerous times when he’s wanted to leave.

"He’s never been complimentary about the city he lives in, he actually stated that he’d never come back to Manchester once he’d left. Well he might be getting that wish very shortly.

"Obviously it can’t happen until January anyway but I’d be the most surprised person in the world if Roberto Mancini was to make him want to stay.

"One thing for certain is that this will end with Manchester City continuing to go forward with or without Carlos Tevez."
