Liverpool striker responds to eight-match ban

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has responded to the ruling from the Independent Regulatory Panel.

Suarez has been banned for eight matches and fined £40,000 for racially abusing Patrice Evra.

The Uruguayan striker was charged by the Football Association with abusing Manchester United defender Patrice Evra and referring to his 'ethnic origin and/or colour and/or race'.

Suarez wrote on his Twitter: "Today is a very difficult and painful day for both me and my family.

"Thanks for all the support, I'll keep working!"
