Real Madrid keeping tabs on Man Utd striker

Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho is keeping tabs on Danny Welbeck's situation at Manchester United.

The People reports that Mourinho is a long-term admirer of the highly-rated England striker.

Mourinho is paying special attention to Welbeck's contract wrangle with the Premier League side.

Welbeck is currently earning £15,000-a-week at United and has told United he wants more than £60,000-a-week.

Welbeck's current contract expires in 18 months and United have told the striker that they are not prepared to offer him more than £50,000-a-week.

Real Madrid had scouts at five Manchester United games in December and January, according to the People.
