Sharp underwent a medical at St Mary's earlier on Monday and is expected to complete his move to Southampton before the January transfer window closes.

Saunders said: "We have accepted a deal for Billy from Southampton and he is having a medical now."

Sharp turned down a move to Leicester city earlier in the transfer window.
