Tottenham boss Jol praise Berbatov

Spurs boss Martin Jol has heaped praise on star striker Dimitar Berbatov.

Spurs boss Martin Jol said: "Dimitar could play for anyone in Europe, he is a top-class player, but we are an ambitious club so why would we sell our best players?

"This year and next year we won't be ready to challenge for the Premiership because we are 30 points behind the top teams, but in the next three or four years Spurs will be looking to do so and we will need Berbatov.

"He has proved that he's good, but if you ask him he will say there is a lot more to come.

"Last year in Germany he scored 18 goals in the second half of the season after getting just six or seven in the first half.

"He is showing signs of doing it again this season at Spurs and I would like to get 20-25 goals from him this season."
