Newcastle Utd will have to pay "stupid money" for Twente star
FC Twente manager Steve McClaren has warned Newcastle they will have to pay "stupid money" in order to sign Luuk de Jong.The Magpies have long been linked with a move for the highly-rated Dutchman.
Newcastle have reportedly had an initial £8million bid for De Jong rejected.
McClaren told Dutch media: "Luuk de Jong would stay if it were up to me - unless stupid money is offered.
"The club know what I think about it."
Twente are reportedly looking for around £12.5million for De Jong.
