The Daily Express reports that the Magpies have agreed a £5million fee with Twente for the Brazilian defender.

Douglas has long been linked with a move away from the Dutch side after impressing in the Eredivisie.

Newcastle are also keen on signing Luuk De Jong, but Twente are holding out for £15million for the striker.
