Man Utd star determined to impress

Manchester United midfielder Anderson admits he is determined to prove that he is deserving of a regular role at Old Trafford.

Anderson made just 16 appearances last season, due to injuries.

Anderson told the Manchester Evening News: "For me, this season is very important. I know I have to be very focused on my football. I'll still have a laugh and a joke with my team-mates, but I know I must be really focused.

"I want to show what I can do this season, produce my best and help the team. I need to prove what I can do. I know the boss and my team-mates believe in me, I've just had bad luck.

"I want to improve as much as I can and help the team win trophies. I feel good. I had a nice holiday and I've had no problem with my leg.

"I started last season with no problems but then I started to feel my knee a bit. It's just one of those things, some players have injuries and others don't."
