Ribery still upset at Champions League final defeat

Franck Ribery says he is still haunted by the shock Champions League final defeat to Chelsea.

Chelsea won one of the most unlikely Champions Leagues of all time as they rode their luck, first against Napoli in the second round.

They were then outplayed by Benfica and Barcelona, before meeting Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena in the final.

They were comprehensively outplayed by Bayern yet still managed to record a fortuitous win on penalties.

"That was brutal, it was too much for my head," Ribery said. "Never in our lives should we have lost that game.

"We played great, had lots of possession and chances and we were 1-0 up with just a few minutes remaining.

"Then we conceded the equalizer, Robben missed a penalty in extra time and then we have that penalty shoot-out.

"I will never forget that for as long as I live."
