Newcastle make fresh bid for Lille star
Newcastle boss Alan Pardew is believed to have made a fresh bid for Lille full-back Mathieu Debuchy.The Daily Mirror reports that Newcastle have improved their opening offer for the 27-year-old to around £6million, plus add-ons.
Lille president Michel Seydoux said: "Our price is £6m, because he is a quality player and we need to find a good replacement in the transfer market."
Pardew is keen on signing Debuchy before the season starts and is also keen to keep Davide Santon at the club.
