Arsenal star targets Brazil return

Arsenal defender Andre Santos is determined to regain his best form in order to win a recall to the Brazil national team.

The 29-year-old struggled with injuries last season and fell out of favour with Brazil coach Mano Menezes.

"My aim is to return to the national team," Santos told Radio Bradesco Esportes FM.

"By playing for a big club like Arsenal and playing well for them, if I have a good start to the season, I can't see why I wouldn't have a chance at the national team.

"The Brazil coach Mano Menezes is a logical person, who respects all the players and gives us all a chance.

"He calls up the players who are in good form, and if I'm in good form, I will deserve my return to the national team."

He added: "The injury I had last year harmed me a lot. I was out for four or five months.

"If I'm playing well in a team that is fighting for titles, in one of the most watched tournaments in the world, I believe that will be enough to get a call up."
