Wenger disappointed at van Persie choice
Arsene Wenger has admitted his disappointment at Robin van Persie's departure to Man Utd.
Wenger said Arsenal had little choice but to let van Persie leave after the player engineered a move to one of their biggest rivals.
“We wanted to avoid it [the transfer] at all costs”, Wenger told Telefoot. "They have the advantage of having played against him and so they knew his class.
“He’s an outstanding player in every sense.”
